Leadership Development
Develop the people who lead the store.
The Overdrive Operating System defines how the business runs. Leadership development builds the managers responsible for it, so priorities hold, ownership is clear, and performance conversations actually happen.
Three areas of leadership
Yourself, the business, the people.
Managing Yourself
Self-management first. Time, energy, and focus, written priorities, and the discipline to work on the store rather than only inside it.
- Written priorities
- Calendar and focus
- Personal follow-through
Managing the Business
The measures and systems a leader runs by: the KPIs they watch, the processes their team follows, and the priorities they hold the store to.
- KPIs that get reviewed
- Documented processes
- Priorities that hold
Managing Others
The people work: clear ownership, direct conversations, coaching, and developing the next set of leaders in the building.
- Clear ownership
- Feedback and coaching
- Developing a bench
What we coach
Practical leadership capabilities.
Time, Energy, and Focus
A manager's day fills up on its own. We work on written priorities, protected blocks for the work that only they can do, and an honest look at where the energy goes.
Protecting the priorities you wrote down when the drive is busy.
Delegation and Accountability
Not every task belongs to the leader. We sort work by what they enjoy, what actually drives revenue, and where their aptitude is strongest, then place the rest with a named owner.
Assigning ownership of a recurring task instead of absorbing it again.
Communication and Difficult Conversations
Clear requests, the right channel, and follow-through. We practice the conversation a manager keeps postponing, so expectations land the first time.
Giving direct feedback on a missed commitment without letting it drift.
Coaching and Developing People
Leaders grow the store by growing the people in it. We coach managers on one-on-ones, useful performance conversations, and developing a bench.
Coaching a manager whose numbers slipped for a reason nobody has named.
The cadence
A rhythm your team can plan around.
Ryan's coaching runs one full day per month for the first three months, then one full day per quarter, plus annual planning across two consecutive days each year. Leadership work is reinforced between those sessions rather than crammed into them.
Between sessions
A learning system, not a binder.
Clients get access to the Kairos learning management system with 100 videos on leadership, the operating system, time management, and delegation. Managers use it between coaching sessions to reinforce what they are working on.
